There was wind, lightning and a little bit frightening as punters negotiated flying napkins, plates and champagne flutes at the pre-Christmas race meeting.
An no one seemed to mind too much if the first race was also the last as a great afternoon with grouse company was already a 'lock'.
There wasn't a care to be had as the storm cleared and the stewards walked the track and declared it safe to carry on with the five-race card.
Many local businesses used the event as a twist on the office Christmas party - and the corporate areas were chocked.
