A 72 not out from Cyril Davis and 48 Michael Fotheringham, who were both lower order batsman, has helped steer South West Rocks to a successful run chase and victory over Rovers in the Macleay Valley Cricket Association's first grade competition.

In a battle between second and third, South West Rocks proved superior with the bat as they surpassed Rovers' total of 191 in the 29th over with two wickets to spare.
Davis and Fotheringham were joined by Graham Hughes (15), Matthew Ryan (15) and Mitchell Smith (10) as South West Rocks batsmen to reach double figures.
Patrick Cotter was the pick of the bowlers for South West Rocks as he picked up three wickets while Zach Maitland grabbed two.
Rovers had five batsman get a start as Matthew Powick (50 not out), Brett Hutley (45), Ellen Hetherington (38), Scott Williams (14) and Jonte Ross (12) kept the scoreboard ticking over.
Three Rovers players picked up two wickets with the ball in hand as Kai Dunbar-Rudd, Lachlan Munday and Carlos Peters applied pressure to the Rocks batsmen.
South West Rocks' victory leapfrogs them into second place on the ladder.
Nulla, who are in first position, and the last-placed Stuarts Point/Eungai's match was a draw.
