Amy Meshell Connors, 35, of Kinchela Street, Gladstone will be sentenced in the Port Macquarie District Court on Friday, December 6.
Connors pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office, engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate under her authority as a correctional officer.
The offences allegedly occurred between July 2, 2018 and July 22, 2018 at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre at Aldavilla, near Kempsey.
Connors is being represented by Scott James.
In the agreed Crown facts on sentence, Connors had been employed by Corrective Services NSW for 15 years, taking up a role at the Aldavilla facility in December 2017.
According to the facts, a number of correctional officers were asked to monitor Connors' interactions with the inmate and report any suspicious behaviour.
In addition, her shifts were changed to enable monitoring and minimise risk.
Systems were also put in place to conduct observations of Connors and the inmate and their interactions.
Those observations included the use of CCTV system that allowed live tracking and zooming in to specific areas, where available.
The investigations revealed that Connors and the inmate were in an intimate relationship, the facts say.
Connors used the alias "Lydia" in her dealings with the inmate to avoid detection, the Crown facts say.
Observations of Connors' interactions began on July 2, 2018.
During a subsequent search of the inmate's cell, a number of items were allegedly seized.
These included, a Valentine's Day card addressed to the inmate and signed Lydia; a drawing of the word Kismet with further handwriting below 'forever tied to my heart'.
Connors was suspended from duties on July 20, 2018 and formally resigned on July 22, 2018.
