The opening weekend saw the highly anticipated sequel Frozen 2 hit the big screens and manager of the Kempsey Cinema Chelsea Curyer said it has been the most popular movie this week.
"We've had heaps of people come to see Frozen 2. Friday night was our biggest night for families," she said.
"The response from the community has been really positive, everyone has said how much they love having a cinema close to home and not having to drive to Nambucca Heads or Port Macquarie."
Many locals have also continued to visit the cinema this week.
"We've had a lot of people from the older demographic coming to see some movies and they've said having a cinema in Kempsey has made it a lot more convenient," Chelsea said.
"People have even told us they're going to come and see multiple sessions a week which is really cool to know the community is supporting us."
Chelsea said the response from the Kempsey community has been overwhelming.
"I have worked at other Majestic Cinema sites before and they didn't get this positive response as quickly as Kempsey has. From day one we've had the support of the community which is encouraging to see.
"We just hope everyone takes the time to come and experience a movie at the Kempsey Cinema."
Movie times for Kempsey can be found on the Majestic Cinemas website.
