Lucinda grew up in Kempsey where she began her dance training. She will return to the Mid North Coast this weekend to dance key roles for The Nutcracker production at Port Macquarie's Glasshouse.
At 13-years-old Lucinda left home to join the Sydney City Ballet.
Growing up, Lucinda trained at Danae Cantwell School of Dance and is excited to return and perform in front of her family and friends.
Lucinda will dance the lead roles of the Snow Queen in the 3pm performance and as teenage Clara in the evening performance on Sunday, December 15.
Lucinda's favourite part of the performance is the pas de deux (duet) she dances as Clara with the Prince.
"It's just so beautiful to dance," she said.
There is also another pas de deux Lucinda dances as the Snow Queen. She said it's challenging as it takes a lot of coordination, alongside her male partner.
While Lucinda is nervous before she goes on stage, she employs breathing techniques in an attempt to keep herself calm.
Lucinda has always been passionate about dancing, as her mother was her first teacher.
"I can't imagine my life without dancing," she said.
Rehearsals for the Nutcracker are on everyday from Monday to Saturday.
Ballet dancers are known as being incredible athletes, who have to work hard to build stamina and endurance.
Lucinda said having rest is just as important as physical training, to prevent injuries.
On her day off she works casually at a cafe in Sydney.
It's Lucinda's fourth time performing The Nutcracker and she is looking forward to seeing her three younger brothers, who are coming to watch her perform this Sunday.
