Nulla posted a large total of 9/279 from their 40 overs with Flynn O'Loughlin (53), Martin Nicholls (49) and Bryce Widdison (48) setting the tone with the bat.
Hutley was the main reason Rovers avoided a hefty defeat, as only Matthew Powick (23) and Cooper Petterson (11) joined him by surpassing double figures.
Nulla's Adam Stutz had a big impact with the ball in hand as he picked up figures of 3/17 off only three overs.
Nicholas Morrison (3/35) and Ayres (2/38) also put a dent in Rovers' batting line up.
Rovers bowlers Carlos Peters (3/52), Petterson (2/65) and Caleb Foran (2/74) picked up wickets.
The defeat leaves Rovers in third place as South West Rocks extended their hold on second place as they made easy work of Stuarts Point/Eungai.
Led by Matt Ryan's 118 and Liam Askew's 65, South West Rocks picked up a 244 run victory.
South West Rocks declared at 4/250 off 30 overs and Stuarts Point/Eungai managed 46 runs in response before they were dismissed in the 11th over.
Leslie Page (23) was the only Stuarts Point/Eungai player to reach double figures.
South West Rocks' Sam Stanfield (2/17) and Patrick Cotter (2/7) each picked up two wickets.
It will be a battle of the top teams this Saturday when Nulla take on South West Rocks.
