Crescent Head Malibu Club president Roger 'Fergo' Ferguson presented Crescent Head RFS representative Jo Watts with the cheque on Monday afternoon.
Fergo said the club and the whole community of Crescent Head and the surrounds were in awe of all the volunteers' dedication and bravery.
"As we all know the bushfire situation in our region, and indeed the whole of NSW, is a tragic ongoing situation," Fergo said.
"The local bridge's work is unpaid, often thankless, and there's always the potential for the situation to be life threatening.
"You never know what you may face when you leave that station.
"We are so grateful for your sacrifice and actions."
The cheque was received with sincere gratitude from Jo and she said it would go a long way towards improving much-needed training and equipment.
