The horrific accident remains the worst road accident in Australia, with 35 people killed and a further 41 injured.
Sunday, December 22 2019 marks 30 years since the accident.
The Kempsey Lions Club are organising a commemorative service to be held at the Clybucca Memorial Garden on Macleay Valley Way to mark the 30th anniversary.
President of the Kempsey Lions Club, Ray Walkden, said the service will be a time to remember and re-connect with other people who were there.
"I want the service to be a time to reflect and renew friendships with the people who were involved," he said.
"Since organising the service I've had calls from children of the people who were lost that day. I've spoken with a 35-year-old woman who was involved in the accident and lost her mother.
"This accident has gone through the generations and impacted a lot of people," Ray said.
Representatives from all organisations who attended the crash and anyone who was impacted by the accident is invited to attend the commemorative service.
The service will be held from 10am to 12pm on Sunday, December 22 at the Clybucca Memorial Garden on Macleay Valley Way.
