Most gallopers are retired before they reach 10 and have to be by 11-years-old so the win of 10-year-old Kempsey gelding French Command, trained by Hilary Dew and ridden by his apprentice Jayden Barrie, at the iconic Woop Woop Cup meeting at Wauchope Jockey Club's meeting is admirable.

It was the evergreen galloper's 137th start, its 14th win, along with 30 placings, and took prizemoney to $207,000.
The half-head win kept its great record of at least a win every season in tact.
"He will run until he is 11... he loves racing," Dew said.
"He thrives in the stable life and is very competitive.
"French Command was being balloted out of races and it was great to get a start at Wauchope for him.
"It was also good for Jayden to get his second win for our stable...his fourth career win," he said.
