The cloudy skies have been teasing the Macleay over the past couple of days, with Kempsey recording only 0.6mm of rain on Sunday.

However, recent rainfall in the Macleay River catchment has boosted river flows, with 32.6mm recorded at Armidale Airport on Saturday.
Resident Graeme Thomas was elated to see the Macleay River flowing again.
"On Saturday, the Macleay River at Toorooka was dry but by yesterday at lunch time, there was a nice flow," he said.
Even with the Macleay River flowing, the shire is still waiting for much-needed rainfall.
Some rain is forecast for the region from the middle of the week and through to the weekend, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
Thursday is when Kempsey is predicted to see some rain, with a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and evening and a chance of a thunderstorm.
Kempsey is also predicted to receive between 2 and 8mm on Friday, with a 50 per cent chance of rain on Saturday.
Overall, there is a 77 per cent chance of Kempsey receiving at least 5mm over the next week, according to BOM.
Meanwhile the BOM has issued a Hazardous Surf Warning for Monday and Tuesday from Eden to the Coffs Coast.
Swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in those areas.
