The Country Education Foundation of the Macleay Valley (CEFMV) is pleased to announce that the Thyne Reid Foundation has generously provided $5000 to go towards assisting young people aged 16-24 years in the Kempsey Shire whose education or vocational goals may have been adversely impacted by the recent bushfires.

CEFMV Chairman Terry Witchard said that the time for submitting grant applications has been extended until January 31 2020 to accommodate the Thyne Reid Foundation sponsorship.
"Applications must be submitted online at www.cef.org.au and have 'Macleay Valley' clearly nominated as the responsible local foundation," he said.
"Explaining in the application exactly how the recent fires have impacted the applicant's educational/vocational goals is important."
The Thyne Reid Foundation funding can be used to assist with the costs associated with higher education, vocational training, and entry into the workforce.
Apprentices are particularly encouraged to submit applications. Students who are still attending high school are also eligible to apply, particularly where they may have lost equipment to the fires.
The CEFMV generally provides non-cash grants to assist school leavers to meet some of the costs associated with higher education, vocational training, and entry into the workforce, especially where young people might otherwise miss out on opportunities because they can't afford to participate.
