Kaine Parkinson has been selected as the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club's Sportsperson of the Year for 2019.
The talented rugby league player contributed to the Macleay Valley Mustangs first grade premiership in his debut season, the Under-18.5s minor premiership and grand final appearance, represented the North Coast Bulldogs Under-18s and was selected into the Bulldogs' Under-23s side to compete next month.
After completing his HSC last year, Kaine will begin studying PDHPE teaching at Newcastle University and has signed with South Newcastle in the local prestigious rugby league competition.
The fullback, who can play anywhere in the backline, is likely to start in the reserve grade side.
For his selection as the Sportsperson of the Year, Kaine received a $500 voucher to spend at the RSL's restaurant.
