The cast of nine locals have been tirelessly perfecting their lines and stage direction over the past six months.
"The cast haven't been nervous yet, they're really looking forward to it," Chris said.
"I've been telling them for the past few weeks that they need to go out on stage like it's their last performance every night."
The play will run for a total of nine shows between February 1 and 16.
"I'm really happy with how the actors have taken on the roles and the set design is amazing," Chris said.
The contemporary play is a serious drama inspired by the famous Cold Chisel song of the same name. The story revolves around the main character who returns to his country home town after 10 years away, he soon realises little has changed and finds himself involved in conflicts.
"People who have seen the play during rehearsals have said it's an accurate representation of a country town. Although the play isn't about Kempsey, I think people will see some similarities."
The oepning night will be held on Saturday at The Bandbox Theatre.
"We've sold a number of tickets for the opening night already, but thee will be some at the door for people who decide to come last minute," Chris said.
Locals can purchase tickets online at TicketHost or from Coastline Credit Union and Hourglass Jewellers.
"I would like to thank the local organisations that have supported us. I can't wait for Kempsey to experience Flame Trees."
