THE Frederickton Fishing Club is getting ready for its next big competition, starting this Friday and running until Sunday, February 9.

Weigh-ins are scheduled for 2 pm to 3 pm on Sunday at the Frederickton Pub; spectators are welcome.
There are over $3000 in cash and prizes for senior and junior competitors, which includes $100 cash for each largest nominated species.
The Frederickton Pub has generously donated $500 for the largest of a mystery species which will be revealed at the sign-in, there will also be lucky door prizes, mystery weight prizes.
"Our aim is to get the kids off the lounge and into the great outdoors with some fishing," club president James Goodchild told the Argus.
To sign up for the competition, head over to the Frederickton pub between 4 pm and 6 pm this Friday afternoon. There is an annual membership fee of $10 per adult, $5 per child (under 16) or capped at $20 a family.
