SWRSLSC Director of Marketing and Communications, Grahame Ball, is adamant that winning even one medal at the event is a huge feat.
"Winning anything at the country championships is a big deal, there is always a very strong field of competitors," he told the Argus.
"There were over 1300 competing from 36 different clubs, and many are state champions or good all-around athletes."
Seven from South West Rocks competed in tough conditions at Kingscliff, and between them, they came away with two gold, one silver and two bronze.
"We go to the country championships every year, and generally our competitors go pretty well," Ball said.
"This year, we had a smaller crew than usual, but everyone still achieved great results.
"There was a strong performance by our Nippers crew, James Gaddes, Jack Ball and Sophie Smailes, who all performed well throughout the carnival.
"We also sent away Rod McDonagh Craig Schweirt, and Rebecca Mitchell as officials."

"At this stage, it will depend on the weather, but the club hopes to head to the Branch Championships this weekend and see more great results from our Nippers and Masters," Ball said.
If the Branch Championships are postponed due to weather the backup date is set for Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23.
