Around 60 locals attended a dinner with guest Lyndey Milan at The Garden Bar & Kitchen in Frederickton on Tuesday night, while producers attended a talk to promote agri-tourism on Wednesday before enjoying a local produce lunch by Steam & Cedar and a producer tour of Bucket Brewery.
Council's Coordinator Economic Development and Tourism Marilyn Breen said the event was held to showcase the Macleay as a foodie destination.
"Kick starting the agri-tourism business in the Macleay is what the Farm Feast is about. We have such beautiful diversity of produce here that we shouldn't be shy to show it off," she said.
"We do realise there aren't enough cafes and restaurants in the area where people can go to enjoy local produce and that's something we're going to look into."
Marilyn said having Lyndey host the event has brought a different opinion from someone in the food industry.
"She has a long history in the food industry and gave some really interesting talks, she's very knowledgeable."
Lyndey said branding the Macleay as an agri-tourism destination is what will make the region stand out.
"People want to eat food that's local. It will set the Macleay apart from other areas because of its diverse local produce.
"The community needs to get behind doing this and work towards having local produce as a fixture at food venues. I would love to see local producers acknowledged on the menu.
"This needs to be supported by producers, restaurants and locals."
The Farm Feast Macleay Valley Coast was a success, with organisers hoping to make it an annual event.
