The Macleay's wet weather played havoc on all sporting events over the weekend including the 2020 'Boardshorts Golf Day' at the Kempsey Golf Club.
As a result of the cancellation, the players who did brave the conditions played in the Single Stableford event with a few visitors from South West Rocks, Frederickton, Tuggerah Lakes and Lane Cove in the field of 34 players. There were just two grades on the day and some excellent scores as well.
Taking out the 'A' grade (0-17) was Greg ( tiger) Roberts with a good round of 40 points on the wet course.
Playing outstanding golf and having a 1 under par round for his score of 37 points was a club champion James Benson for the runner up spot on the day.
In the 'B' grade (18 + ) the winner on the day was Jeffery Hickson from LaneCove with a score of 37 points. Out early on Saturday morning was Ben Holten for a round of 37 points also and he was the runner up to Hickson.
Taking out the super tee ntp on the 18th hole was Campbell Hoskins this week.
At the 3rd hole, the winners were Dane Callaghan 'A' & Dempsey Donovan 'B'. James Benson 'A' & Dan Baker 'B' were the winners at the 8th hole.
On the 11th hole on Saturday, the winners were Dean Greenhalgh 'A', Gavin Burke 'B', Jeffery Hickson 'C'. At the tough 16th hole James Benson 'A' & Austin Northey 'C' were the winners.
