After reconsideration, the Office of Sport has advised that golf is considered an activity that can continue to be played in line with Public Health Orders relating to public gathering limits, social distancing, and the elderly.
There are restrictions on public gatherings, but it is important to note that people are allowed to leave their homes for the purpose of exercise.
Before the interesting start to the week, Kempsey Golf Club held the 2020 Macleay Valley Mowers 18 hole Single Stableford event.
The day saw a great field of visitors from Frederickton, Crescent Head, South West Rocks, Muree, Wauchope and Massey Park golf clubs.
A big thank you goes to the team from Macleay Valley Mowers for their continued support of golf at the club.
Another thank you goes to all the volunteers and the helpers on the day for there support despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking out the top prize for the 'A' grade on Saturday was Paul Hollis with a tremendous round of 42 points despite the heavy going on the course.
In the runner up spot was David Welsh with 37 points on a countback. Murray Addison was declared the 'B' grade winner with his round of 37 points on a countback from Zach Pritchard who also recorded a round of 37 points.
The 'C' grade winner and recording his first win at the club was Joshua Hughes with 33 points. Colin Hall from Frederickton was runner up with 32 points.
Due to the Coronavirus rules, there was no Ntp's on the day; however, the ball competition saw players with a score of 34 points and better receive a ball.
All vouchers and balls from the days event can be collected from the pro shop at the club.
Everyone is advised to read and comply with the rules relating to COVID-19, and a significant point is to keep one player per cart.
