Frederickton's Kim Commane was on top of the world a few months ago, she had been named captain of Bath Netball Team for the Vitality Netball Superleague season, and led the team on an undefeated streak.

"We were three from three, our last match was against up against Wasps Netball (63-51), who have won three back to back to back titles," she told the Argus.
"The feeling after that game, it was amazing, like winning a grand final."
After a great start to the season, the local netballer was all set for the next challenge, taking on another undefeated team.
"We were all looking forward to our next match against the London Pulse, they were three from three as well, and we were looking forward to battling it out with them," Commane said.
"It would have been a great game, but I was confident going in that we could beat them."
Once we got word that the season was postponed, my husband and I decided to come back to Australia while we still could.

Unfortunately, just before the match took place, the UK enacted its COVID-19 restrictions and Commane was left with no choice but to come home.
"There was initially a lot of uncertainty whether the league would go forward with all the restrictions coming in," she said.
"The schools were about to close, which was where I was working and my husband's work was likely to close as well.
"Once we got word that the season was postponed, my husband and I decided to come back to Australia while we still could."
Her journey took two days and 40 hours in transit, which ended with Commane and her husband being in quarantine for two weeks.
"Team Bath was able to help us with some of the expenses, with everything that was going on, plane tickets were very expensive," Commane said.
"Both our families were very supportive as well, my husbands family met us at the airport and gave us a car, and then my family gave us the house for two weeks while we quarantined."
Restrictions are being eased all over the world in the next few months, and there is a small glimmer of hope Commane could return to her team before the end of the year, there are no guarantees though.
"The season was looking to come back in April, but has been pushed back again until August, I'm not sure when I can return to the team though," she said.
"I spoke to my coach recently, and she is keen to get me back as soon as it is safe to travel again, but I'm not sure when that will be. Everything is up in the air at the moment.
"I'm keeping busy though; I've been going on walks, training virtually on zoom and going for bike rides.
"If anyone out there is keen to train or do some sessions, contact me. Netball is a great sport, and it's easy to social distance."
