A statement today given out to rugby union clubs and associations by NSW Country Rugby Union has signaled the start of community sport returning to normal.

The 'green light' has been given from the Sports Minister to resume rugby training providing clubs adhere to the rules surrounding groups of 10 and all the guidelines within the public health order in NSW.
The statement says it's important that clubs check with their local council regarding their restrictions and access to fields/amenities as they may have differing guidelines compared to other councils.
A four step process has been included to ensure all clubs, coaches and players are following the guidelines:
1. Check with your Local Council regarding their guidelines/ restrictions
a. If they have restrictions in place or Local Councils not allowing sports access to fields/amenities - Contact the NSW Office of Sport they will deal with any issues/enquiries
b. If your councils require Rugby Union specific Return to Play guidelines - clubs can provide the attached
2. Make sure your SMART RUGBY is up to date!
a. Make sure your coaches are current with their Smart Rugby
b. They need to be Smart Rugby compliant to take the field and coach any/ all rugby activities
3. READ & ADHERE to LEVEL B Guidelines (AIS + Rugby Union Return to Play Framework)
a. RUGBY IS NOW ON LEVEL B - please follow these guidelines outlined in detail in the attached document - COVID 19 - Return to training and Play document - Please find attached
i. Juniors/ Youth Club and School - Coaches/ Managers and Players checklist
ii. Attached also is Senior Coaches/ Managers and Players Checklist
iii. This includes checklists for coaches and clubs to ensure they are adhering to guidelines and health order - as well as some AWESOME RESOURCES on activities to run with groups of 10
4. HELPFUL TOOLS - To help with this NSWRU have developed some helpful tools to ensure that we are training within the guidelines.
a. Recommended Field set up for training - 6 x Groups of 10 (diagram/ image attached)
b. Social Media/ Poster image for Level B training guidelines for Rugby (JPEG attached)
c. Clubs and Facilities Checklist - to ensure Clubs tick all the boxes in creating a safe environment
d. Also included in Return to training and play document is ideas on training and progression to Level C when that occurs - so clubs and coaches can get planning
