This is in line with the recently amended NSW Government Public Health Order.
Northern NSW Football released the following statement:
Northern NSW Football's board of directors has amended the suspension of all football activities to allow affiliated clubs to resume training from 11.59pm Tuesday May 26 May strictly in accordance with Return to Training - Level 1 Guidelines and ensuring that the council facilities the club uses are open.
The reason for this start date, is to provide club officials and volunteers time to consider the guidelines and prepare appropriately.
The Return to Training - Level 1 Guidelines offer sound, best practice advice on how to keep players, volunteers and match officials safe during the transition back to football including parameters surrounding the types of activities which can occur, facility usage and how to conduct training safely.
"While we are all keen to get back on the park, it is important we all take precautions. Therefore, it is essential that clubs review and understand the guidelines and how they relate to venues,'' the statement continued.
To assist club officials, Northern NSW will host two live webinars pm Saturday May 23 at 9.30am and Monday May 25 at 6.30pm. Spaces are limited, so registrations are essential and anyone interested should contact Northern NSW Football. Those who cannot attend at the sessions will be able to access the recording via Return to Training - Level 1 Portal.
While the Return to Training - Level 1 guidelines come into effect on 11.59pm Tuesday May 26, clubs should consider the following before any team resumes training:
- Ensure relevant club volunteers and coaches are familiar with the guidelines;
- Confirm LGA requirements are met and ensure a lease or hire agreement is in place approving the club's utilisation of requested facilities;
- .Advise competition administrator (zone, NNSW) of club's return to training.
The Return to Training - Level 1 Portal contains some resources and templates to assist clubs including:
- Return to Training - Level 1 Guidelines
- Return to Training - Level 1 Checklist
- Return to Training - Level 1 Poster for players and teams
- Return to Training - Level 1 Poster for coaches
- Record of Attendance Template
Further resources will be added as they come to hand.
"We understand that not all clubs will return to training at the same time, there will be a staggered affect throughout the region due to individual council requirements and communication with players and participants.

"How we collectively respond to the easing of restrictions and the opportunity to train will have a bearing on when the relevant health authorities approve a return to play,'' Northern NSW Football concluded.
