Once submissions close on August 2, researchers and editors will review the clips and decide what will end up in the final film. If your footage makes the cut, the team will contact you later in the year.
The final film, produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald, will feature clips from people all over the world and premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
Scott and Macdonald are asking all entries to address the following in their video:
- What do you love?
- What do you fear?
- What would you like to change? Either about the world, or your own life.
- What's in your pocket?
Before you upload your footage, head over to the official website at: https://lifeinaday.youtube to read the requirements and submit an appearance release form, the site also contains some handy tips.
This isn't the first time the duo of Scott and Macdonald have created a film like this, with their first project called "Life in a Day," coming out in 2010.
Using more than 80,000 clips submitted by people from 189 countries, director Kevin Macdonald and his team went through over four thousand hours of footage to create a 90-minute feature showing events that occurred over the course of a single day, July 24, 2010.
That film premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and is still free to see on Youtube, where it has over 16 million views.
