The Group 3 junior rugby league fixture saw both sides come into the match one win apiece after the Mustangs defeated a strong Macksville side whilst the Hawks smashed Port City Breakers.
The early stages of the match went all the Mustangs way as the team raced out to a 10-0 lead with tries to Byron Stanton-Kelly and Mason Powick.
Hawks then showed they're not a side that should be underestimated, scoring tries in the second and third quarters to make it 16-10.
At the 67th minute mark, the game looked like it might be out of the Mustangs' reach with Bull sent to the sin-bin for an indiscretion.
Bull then ran back on with three minutes to spare, sparking life into his side before running through the opposition close to the line to score and make it 16-14.
Bailey Thompson then stepped up to the plate, hitting the kick straight between the posts.
"No one really wanted to take the kick because there was so much pressure with the score at 16-14 but Bailey put his hand up and handled the pressure admirably," coach Reuben Jones told the Argus.
"We played pretty poorly to be honest and were lucky to draw but the effort was there to keep going and pull off a late try.
"Bailey Thompson was our man of the match whilst Ivan Madden had a strong game."
In the under 16's league tag, the Kempsey Dragons defeated Smithtown Tigers 18-4.
The Dragons under 16's side defeated the Hawks 40-6 in a dominant display.
