In pouring rain, Saints ran onto the field with surface water appearing on the pitch.
The first fifteen minutes saw the Saints' trademark attacking flair on full display with Nick Wright and Corey Crotty scoring.
With players colliding constantly, the referee called the captains and coaches together at the 22nd minute however the decision was made to continue.
The break was a blessing for the Tigers who scored four goals in 15 minutes.
At the 42nd minute with injuries to several players, the referee stopped the match with the final score recorded as 0-0, giving the Saints their first point of the season.
The Saints will play Coffs City United Lions this Wednesday 8pm at Eden Street Sporting Fields with the Lions coming off a 1-0 loss to Boambee Bombers.
If Kempsey can manage a win in this mid-week fixture and Sawtell or Taree lose they'll lift themselves off last place and with their attacking strengths they could prove a difficult outfit to face as the season wears on.
