Shop volunteers Marie Mavin, Ruth Usher and Maree Donaldson are being kept busy serving an influx of customers who had been missing their Vinnies bargains in recent times.
More than 160 Vinnies shops are now open in NSW. Health precautions include provision of PPE, personal health guidelines, physical distancing requirements and an enhanced cleaning schedule.
There is also a new donation handling procedure that features a 48-hour containment of all donated goods. These precautions will continue to be monitored, and adapted to ongoing change.
For now, Vinnies shop change-rooms are closed, although staff are always happy to provide advice on sizing - and, if you like, fashion tips.
If you're wishing to donate goods but a local Vinnies shop is not open, kindly use one of the Vinnies charity bins. If you're a North Coast resident wanting to volunteer in a Vinnies shop, contact volunteer engagement officer Andrew.Green@vinnies.org.au or 0428 977-454.
