On Saturday it was host to one of the best junior rugby league finals in recent memory as Smithtown Tigers and Kempsey Dragons played off for a spot in the Group 2 under 16's league tag grand final.
The Dragons ladies went into the game as favourites, finishing in outright first on 16 points whilst Smithtown finished in fourth on 10.
Coming into the game with the home ground advantage the Tigers got themselves off to the best possible start, with an upset on the cards.
An 80 metre break from Lana Brenton saw her put the ball down under the posts as Zoe Crilley converted to make it 6-0 ten minutes in.
Smithtown continued to run through the middle of the Dragons defence as Crilley added another four points to the score-sheet before converting her own try.
With half-time looking like it'd end at 12-0, the Dragons dug deep to swing momentum in their favour with an exchange of hands leading to a Jonte Van Hugten try. Naokii Frail then converted to make it 12-6 at the break.
Five minutes after half-time Chermeeka Fernando for the Dragons ran over the try-line, with the conversion successful to lock the score at 12-12.
Nakaya Walker then started to put her name on the game making a break just before the end of the third quarter, however a great tag from Smithtown's fullback thwarted her chance.
An excellent kick chase from a Tigers second-rower late in the final quarter forced an error at the back from the Dragons as Smithtown could smell an opportunity.
Naokii Frail was then sent to the sin-bin for the Dragons the following set for a high tackle.
The Tigers couldn't pounce against a Dragons side with one woman down but just before full-time they were awarded a penalty 20 metres out on a slight angle.

Tigers players huddled around Crilley as she prepared to kick a penalty goal after the siren.
Despite an excellent strike the kick whistled past the right post and sent the game into golden point.
Extra-time saw Smithtown's fullback make a break early however she was tagged before going any further.
The Dragons then went on a long drive and found themselves five metres out from their try-line.
The ball came to Nakaya Walker who kicked a grubber for herself, running past the defence to score and send the Dragons into the grand final.
"My heart was in my throat, I backed her (Nakaya) a fair bit, she's a great little player and she did well," Dragons coach Alan Dean told the Argus.
"It was a great game of football between two local teams in the Valley, it goes to show the depth of young girls playing league tag."
The Tigers effort was outstanding, pushing the Dragons to their limits with Zoe Crilley putting in an excellent performance.
Dean was full of praise for the opposition.
"Credit to Smithtown, they've come along way from where they were last year," he said.
The Dragons will now travel to Woolgoolga for the grand final to play Coffs Harbour Comets.
