"Ever since I picked up a guitar when I was 11 I've always loved music," Heath told the Argus.
"Eventually I grew the confidence to start singing and it's gone from there.
"Growing up we lived next door to a music shop as well so there was some inspiration from that."
Heath's single 'Reason Why' also features a music video shot on the beautiful coastline of Grassy Head.
As many in the Macleay are aware, Heath's talents don't just stop in the musical arena after a successful junior and senior career with the Kempsey Cannonballs.
He's made the move to Narrabeen on Sydney's Northern Beaches in the past year and currently plays for the Warringah Rats first grade colts side.
"After losing our first four games we've come back strong and won the last four," Heath said.
Originally starting at full-back for the Rats, Heath's move into the 9 and 10 roles have inspired a change in fortune for Warringah.
Playing at halfback in round five against West Harbour saw his club achieve their first win of the season and since that game he's been playing fly-half where the side is yet to lose.
Heath currently sits sixth on the list for successful conversions in the first grade colts competition.
