The pair were dragged out to sea at the popular holiday location and washed on to rocks at nearby Gap Beach on September 27.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to assist in their rescue.
The man was rescued by surf lifesavers, while a critical care paramedic was winched down to the woman in her 30s who was stranded on the rocks.
During the retrieval, the aircrew were challenged by strong southerly winds that hampered them during the 150 foot winch.
The woman suffered abrasions from the incident and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.
