The day got off to a promising start, the sky was clear, and plenty of sharply dressed locals came along to enjoy themselves and forget the fires that were ravaging the community.
Several races were run, and the fashions on the field saw many sharply dressed locals and visitors show off on the catwalk.
There were international visitors all the way from the UK, and a handful of people who were celebrating a few decades of attending the cup.
Sadly, around the middle of the day, things took a turn for the worst, with several of the surrounding fires were upgraded to emergency level.
The day was then officially cancelled before the final race had been run.
