Kempsey trainer Hilary Dew is hoping the win of his Ocean Park (NZ) six-year-old mare Karlu Dreaming is an omen of things to come - the sire having won the rich Cox Plate (raced on Saturday in Melbourne) in 2012.

It was her second win and she scored by two lengths at $19 odds over 2200m at Grafton last Tuesday.
The win revives the memory of the epic victory of Ocean Park, his progeny now gracing races in Australia and New Zealand.

"I bought the mare for $3000 from over the internet about two years ago and her racing has been interrupted at one stage by a groin muscle injury," Hilary said.
"She won running away from the field and she might now go on with it."
Seventh in the race was Port Macquarie's Dangerous Dan which was a hot favourite, trained by Matthew McCudden, the gelding having won last year's Woop Woop Cup at Wauchope and won over 2000m at home on October 10 to show the strength of the Grafton field.
The two may meet again in that cup on Boxing Day but in the meantime Karlu Dreaming was to race again at Grafton this week.
