With rain desperately needed for our farmers in the valley last weekend, a dampener was put on the golf scene at the Kempsey Golf Club with only a small squad of 61 players braving the weather in the morning and those lucky enough to play in the afternoon were able to play there round without any rain.

The rain that fell did make the course play a little longer then it has over the last few weeks and the grass is well and truly growing on the fairways.
With the small field the players however did enjoy the day which saw them contest the 18 hole Single Stableford event which was sponsored by the club on the day and there were visitors from Frederickton and Gunnedah.

With the local cricket also affected by the wet Ethan Dowling however did find his form on the golf course this week with a very good round of 40 points to take out the 'B' grade on the day.
Chris Hudson was also back to his best and recorded a round of 37 points for the runner up spot.
In the top grade this week another cricketer Allen Hutley also found form with a round of 40 points to claim the top prize and with 37 points Conrad Tamblyn continues to improve his game with his new sticks and was awarded the runner up prize after his round of 37 points.
Newcomer to the golf scene Matthew Griffin was this weeks 'C' grade with a round of 38 points, and the runner up spot went to Richard Campbell Jnr with 36 points.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole were Ross Leopold 'a' , Ethan Dowling 'b'.
On the 8th hole the winners were Chris Kerr 'a', Col Kesby 'b'.
This weeks winners on the 11th hole were Wayne Bonnie 'a', Murray Addison 'b', Grant Clarke 'c'.
At the tough 16th hole the winners were Matt Lewis 'a', Simon Tamblyn 'b', Ariane Brose 'L'.
The winner of the super tee ntp on the 18th hole this week was Conrad Tamblyn.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 34 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Last Saturday also saw the final of the 2020 4B KO competition held with this years winners being Bradley Dyet & Andrew Evans with a 3&1 victory over Graeme Croad and Chris Hudson.
A big thank you to everyone who contested this event this year and let's hope it continues next year.
With this weekend being the last Saturday of the month the members and visitors will play in the Open 18 hole Medley 2bbb Stableford and Individual event with the first players hitting off from 7am from the first tee.
All intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and all players are still reminded about the COVID19 rules at the club.

Coming up on Saturday November 7th will be the 2020 Gold Medal playoff for players who won a medal in each grade over the last 12 months.
