In late November last year engine oil was poured on the pitch with the local fire crew required to fix the damage done. Weeks before that incident, vandals spray painted the pitch.
"On Friday night, a metal barrel was placed on the pitch with a fire lit which destroyed one end," Stuarts Point/Eungai cricket club President Jake Jeffery told the Argus.
"Three weeks out from this season we replaced the synthetic layer and only managed one game each between seniors and juniors before the damage done on Friday night.
"We're in talks with Kempsey Shire Council and Macleay Valley Cricket Association now on whether we replace the whole pitch or only half."
MVCA President Carlos Peters told the Argus they'll assess with a carpet layer how to deal with the damage.
Police are currently investigating the incident and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Stuarts Point/Eungai were scheduled to play against Nulla Bucketeers at Stuarts Point Oval this weekend in 2nd grade however that game will be relocated.
The damage done to the pitch comes as a massive blow as the club was using the wicket for training due to no available cricket nets.
Mr Jeffery added they're in talks with council regarding a push to have security cameras placed at the oval and what fundraising efforts can be done to achieve that outcome.
