The Macleay Valley Community Drug Action Team (MVCDA) are continuing their support to at risk locals in Kempsey by organising an information display at Kempsey Library.

Chair of the MVCDA Mavis Symonds said although COVID-19 has made it challenging for the group to continue their education workshops, the library display is a way to fill the gap.
"Educating people about the risks of drug and alcohol abuse helps locals who may be struggling with addiction," Mavis said.
"We haven't been able to hold any workshops because of COVID-19 restrictions and having the display of support services and information at the library is a way we can still support the community."
The information pamphlets and goodies will be at the Kempsey Library until Saturday.
"People can come in and still get access to resources they need for themselves or family members who may be struggling," Mavis said.
"We knew that we still had to provide the community with this information during the pandemic and we are hoping to hold another display soon."
The MVCDA are also starting to organise workshops for when they will be able to be held.
"Hopefully in January we will be able to hold some information sessions and workshops again but for now we are very thankful for Kempsey Shire Council coming on board and allowing us to have this display.
"It is allowing us to fill a gap where we would usually be out in the community providing support and information."
The Kempsey Library is open from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturday.
