16-year-old Sally Jeffery will be moving to Sydney at the start of next year to train at the prestigious Brent Street Performing Arts Academy and will be attending Year 11 and Year 12 at the academy while dancing six days a week.
Rosie Jeffery, 18, has been accepted to attend Village Nation Performing Arts Academy in Sydney full time and will be studying her Certificate 4 in performing arts.
Principal of Danae Cantwell School of Dance, Danae Shore, said she is very proud of her students pushing through the difficult past few months.
"They have had it tough this year because they weren't able to attend eisteddfods or travel to be involved in competitions which means they haven't been able to enjoy their last year here as they normally would," she said.
"Auditions were held online this year due to COVID-19 and it made it harder because there were so many more people wanting to audition in both Australia and internationally.
"It is a big accolade for two local students to get this recognition and pursue their dreams and career, I'm very proud of them," Danae said.
Both Sally and Rosie will be studying a combination of dance styles including Jazz, Musical Theatre and Ballet.
"Singing and acting will be something new for us to learn and work on our techniques in the area," Sally said.
Dance has been a long-time passion for both Sally and Rosie, the girls have been training at Danae Cantwell School of Dance since they were very young.
"I'm looking forward to getting more exposure and further working on my technique," Rosie said.
"Danae has always been so supportive and encouraged us to pursue our passion."
Sally and Rosie will be moving to Sydney at the beginning of next year, with both of their orientation days being held on February 1, 2021.
Danae said she is sad to see them go, but is proud to see her students further their dance careers.
"It is important for country kids to get the same opportunities that's available for people in the city and it's so incredible to see them succeed," she said.
Rosie agreed and said young people from Kempsey shouldn't limit their experiences even though they come from a regional area.
"We shouldn't miss out because of our location and young people need to know they should pursue their dreams," she said.
Sally and Rosie will also both be performing in the Danae Cantwell School of Dance end of year concert at the beginning of December.
