Since starting The North Coast Women's Rugby League 11s competition, the mighty Golds have beaten all challengers, and are on track to be the premiers.
The other Macleay side, the Reds haven't been as fortunate, but the coach for both teams, Allan Dean, says they are still a force to be reckoned with.
"The Golds haven't lost a single game; it's been unbelievable, the Taree Panthers were also undefeated, and we knew it would be a tough game going in, but the players stepped up," Dean said.
"The Reds have been playing great too; they've had some really tough competition, and only been losing by a few points each game, the scoreboard isn't always reflecting the effort put in by the girls."
The Macleay area has seen a massive level of participation this season with two teams in the 15's, one in 17's and an opens side.
"There was a lot of interest in playing this year, initially, we had such a big squad there were enough players for two teams, it worked out well; everyone is playing close to a full game every week," Dean said.
"A lot of the girls have come from league tag, and this is their first time in a full-contact competition, but you wouldn't know that watching them play, you'd think they'd been at it for years, it's incredible to watch.
"We've had a lot of standouts, Breanca Martin, Bella Guyatt, Hayley Wood, Dominique Lardner, and Bobbi Ward, who has taken to the sport like a duck to water."
The shortened competition won't have a grand final this year, with the top of the ladder set to become the premiers, and while the Golds have the title locked down at this point, Dean says the team still has one more goal to achieve.
"This weekend looks like it might be the last round, but either way, we are hoping to finish the season undefeated," he said.
Both the Macleay under 15s play in Coffs Harbour this weekend, with the Golds set to take on the Port sharks, while the Reds will look to beat the Port City Breakers and chalk up their first win.
