His grandfather held the position of vice president of the show society for a number of years and the Fat Cattle Trophy is named after his great-grandfather.
Stewart's passion for agriculture and his community led to him becoming a member of the show society five years ago.
"I own an agriculture business in town and I wanted to give back to the community, that's why I joined the show society," he said.
"I'm passionate about agriculture and I also have a family history of being involved with the Kempsey Show."
Stewart has held the position of vice president for the previous two years and stepped into the role of president in September.
"As president, I want to work together with the community and have a main focus on agriculture," he said.
"Kempsey Show is the one main event where the community is able to show what we're proud of and I want to make sure the Kempsey Show continues to grow into the future."
Stewart said his main focus as president is organising the 2021 Kempsey Show.
"We're in full planning mode now for the show next year and are looking at how we will run it COVID-safe," he said.
"It will be tough and some shows have cancelled for next year because they found they won't be able to make it COVID-safe, but we want to make sure our show goes ahead."
Stewart said having more volunteers on board to run the 2021 show will make all of the difference.
"We will need volunteers and are encouraging people in the community to get involved with the show society.
"The show has something for everyone and it's a great way to get involved in the community. We really want next year's show to be a standout and showcase what the community has to offer."
The 2021 Kempsey Show is proudly supported by Coastline Credit Union and will be held on April 13 and 14. If you are interested in getting involved, contact the Kempsey Show Society office on 6562 4178.
