Askew is among the eight competitors who have qualified for the series after two days of trials in Kingscliff over the weekend.
He will be joining Joe Collins from Northcliffe as the two debutants in the series.
A wildcard for the event will be revealed on Thursday.
Askew described qualification as a dream come true.
"I was so stoked, it means all the hard sessions and early mornings have paid off - so much work has gone into this, it's so special," he told the Argus.
"To race against and line up alongside my idols, people I've watched on TV, is unreal."
Askew recently made the move further north to Surfers Paradise around June this year and hasn't looked back.
"I love it up here, being alongside people like Ali Day and Trevor Hendy has helped me push myself to another level and take the next step " he said.
Askew will come up against the likes of Day as well as Daniel Collins, Zach Morris, Cooper Williams, Ky Kinsela, Hayden White and previously mentioned Joe Collins.
