The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition is The Rotary Foundation's way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs.
"Brian actively participates in all things Rotary. Every day, Rotary clubs and other club volunteers work tirelessly to raise money and awareness of community needs. They create fundraising opportunities and events," club member Robin Norton said.
"Most importantly, they are made up of people who care about the health and well-being of those who are unable to assist themselves. Brian is one of those persons."
Meanwhile, this year due to COVID restrictions, the club's Rotary Christmas Raffle will not be seen on the streets of the Macleay - as it is being run online.
It is breaking a 38-year tradition of having a box-trailer full of goodies for the family including a lawn mower for dad on display - but it's the way of 2020.
So the Rotary Club of Kempsey West is holding its first annual online raffle to raise funds to support local bushfire recovery and community projects.
"We thought we would try an online raffle this year, so we didn't have handle any money with the COVID restrictions," club president Nathan Warwick said.
There are three great prizes: 1st a Samsung 75-inch smart LED tv, 2nd a two-night weekend hinterland escape in Byron Bay and 3rd a hot air balloon tour with photos for two over the Hunter Valley.
