EX KEMPSEY High School (KHS) students have formed the Kempsey High School Alumni Network, a group dedicated to supporting and inspiring the next generation of graduates.

The alumni network incorporates a diverse membership scattered across Australia and around the world, and each member brings personal and professional experiences that could help former and current students.
"As a proud KHS graduate, I know all too well the importance of a supportive network in achieving self-defined success," committee member Donna Kennedy said.
"I was fortunate to have developed that supportive network whilst completing my HSC at Kempsey High, 6 months after the birth of my son.
"I would not have made it through that year without the connections made with members of staff, the school community and former KHS students.
"Since graduating, I have developed a passion for mentoring, growing resilience and capacity building- a vision that is shared by many of the KHS alumni network, it's now our time to pay it forward."
The alumni network was approved as a NSW registered association in October and Donna says they already have grand plans for the new year.
Along with several workshops, the organisation hopes to grow the network of former students
"The alumni network is currently working on initiatives for 2021 including a mentoring program, workshops and alumni contact points," Donna said.
"We will be working closely with Kempsey High School in the new year to deliver these initiatives.
"In addition to the work planned for 2021, we have already set up two scholarships valued at $1000 each: one for a 2020 Year 12 graduate, and one for a 2020 Year 10 school leaver going on to further study/training."
Applications close December 31, and scholarships will be provided during 2021. Parents with students in Year 10 or Year 12 in 2020 can ask for an application form from the school or at khsancommittee@gmail.com.
