Occupants staying in a mobile home at the Crescent Head Holiday Park were woken up after 9.30pm on Sunday night by a male perpetrator who had gained access to the van.
One of the victims disturbed the perpetrator and chased him outside, where a further two male perpetrators were found and also ran away.
While no property was stolen, the inside of the victims car had been rummaged through.
Police were also called to a break-in at the Horseshoe Bay Holiday Park at South West Rocks at 4am on Monday morning.
One perpetrator gained access to the holiday park's office and produced a 30cm knife when he was disturbed by the occupant.
After threatening the victim, he then fled the premises with a small amount of cash and was observed running away from the property with a further two alleged perpetrators.
Although police can't confirm whether the two incidents are linked, they said there is a strong suspicion the two break and enters were by the same group of perpetrators.
"Officers are canvasing both locations and will be conducting an investigation into both incidents," Mid North Coast Police detective acting inspector and crime manager Chris Hardwick told the Argus.
"Police are reminding people to lock up personal items and stay vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the police."
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is urged to contact Kempsey Police on 6561 6199 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
