The Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers Club are making moves in all the right directions and their women's program is certainly on the right track.

"It was great, the group consisted of people from all levels of experience with plenty of mums and daughters teaming up to join in," Kylie Stewart, one of two female representatives of the club, told the Argus.
"The ladies were split into groups to suit those experience levels."

Ms Stewart said it was important to develop confidence in those starting out.
"For the new people, it was all about becoming familiar with trail riding and building confidence," she said.
"Different trails suit different abilities so experiencing new conditions gave them confidence."
After the success of the weekend's ride, the club plans to continue holding women's events with different environments to ensure riders are accustom to various conditions.
"The feedback was excellent from Sunday with the ladies looking forward to the next one," Ms Stewart added.
"Our next ride will be an adventure ride on February 21 that will be on a fire trial with different terrain while there's potential for a social ride on February 14 as well."
