Bright and colourful board shorts were the order of the day last Saturday at Kempsey Golf Club for the staging of the 2021 Alan MacDonald Memorial Day as part of the board shorts day.
Despite the morning showers and constant rain during the day there was a very good field of 112 players hitting off to remember Alan who was a long time member of the club.
The 18 hole Single Stableford event saw some good scores on the day and plenty of highlights.
A big thank you goes to the MacDonald family for their sponsorship of the day and to volunteers for your work on the course.
One of the best highlights was the Hole in One at the 131mt par 3 3rd hole by Jeff (snake) Black who said he hit a very good 9 iron straight at the hole and with just 2 bounces it disappeared into the hole for this amazing shot.
In the Stableford event on Saturday the best score on the day was recorded by Ritchie Applegate with a round of 41 points to claim the 'C' grade from Mitchell Baldwin of SWR with a score of 39 points.

In the 'B' grade the winner was Malcolm Blanch after his round of 38 points who was just the one point better then Chad Applegate with his round of 37 points.
The winner of the super tee ntp on Saturday was Troy Smith with a fine shot while in the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 34 points and better and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Saturday at the club will be a 18 hole medley single Stableford event and all intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and for more information about upcoming events please give the club a call.
