SOUTH West Rocks, Hat Head and Kempsey/Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Clubs (SLSC) were all well represented at the recent Mid North Coast Branch Championships.
Hosted by Tacking Point Surf Life Saving Club, the carnival showcased local volunteer and junior lifesavers' skills.
Over 200 competitors contested in the swim, board, ski, beach sprints, beach flags, and traditional March Past events. The surf boat section was cancelled due to poor water conditions.
The two-day event also saw Taylah Moffitt from Kempsey-Crescent Head SLSC, and Cooper Lorger from Port Macquarie named the Mid North Coast Junior Lifesavers the Year.
The talented duo were recognised for their achievements and contributions in Surf Life Saving and around their communities.
"It was a privilege to be named the Junior Lifesaver of the Year, and I am proud to show other Nippers that you can achieve your goals even when you are from a small club," Taylah said.
"I'd like to thank everyone who supports me including my club, Kempsey-Crescent Head, Surf Life Saving Mid North Coast and Newcastle Permanent for supporting the Junior Lifesaver of the Year."

Both winners will now compete against the best junior lifesavers from across the state.
The conditions were very trying at times, but Surf Life Saving Mid North Coast President, Rod McDonagh, said he couldn't be prouder of all the competitors.
"It was great to see members of all age groups giving their all in some tricky conditions," he said.
"These championships provide a chance for members to compete in solid conditions in the lead up to the State Championships and Aussies.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Tacking Point as the host club as well as the volunteer work party, officials, and managers who with their ongoing support enable these events to be successful."
