It was a massive weekend for the North Macksville Rural Fire Brigade who hosted the first Village Firefighter Course for the zone in 2021.
But the real action was saved until the very last, when 16 brave souls were put on the razor's edge.
On Sunday afternoon the brigade bared their heads as part of the World's Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Young and old got either the clipper or dye treatment, with one young woman losing almost two feet of hair in one fell snip.
A few crew members were even daring enough to leave the hairstyling to some rather junior apprentices.
The team had anticipated making their $1000 fundraising goal for their efforts. But what they probably hadn't banked on was almost doubling that amount.
Their total currently stands at $1,983.43. But it is still possible to donate via their Team Fundraising Page here.
