Floodwaters have completely cut off the village of Crescent Head and hundreds of locals are now isolated.
Coordinator and Crescent Head RFS captain Greg Kings said they are now evacuating residents from Maria River Road.
"We have set up an evacuation centre at the Crescent Head Public School and are asking any locals for bedding they have to be donated," he said.
"The chemist is also working on filling scripts for people on Crescent Head Road and we've asked that locals only go to the chemist in the afternoon and only if it's urgent.
"We had a delivery of fruit and veggies this morning as well as 70 crates of milk, but we're looking at getting more food to the town tomorrow."
More flood coverage:
The RFS have also been door knocking residents along Pacific Street opposite the school and along Loftus Road to ensure they are prepared for further floodwater level rises.
"We haven't experienced this sort of flood before so we want everyone to be alert and prepared," Mr Kings said.
"It's just a precaution at this stage, we're just asking people to start moving things up higher."
A police officer is currently operating out of the Crescent Head Country Club and will be in the village on Tuesday as well.
The RFS also confirmed there has been two medical emergency evacuations from Crescent Head, both residents where transferred to Kempsey District Hospital.
"We're asking residents to be patient and to contact us if they need anything."
