Jake Young has been crowned the Macleay Sportsperson of the Month for March and received a $100 voucher to the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club restaurant for his efforts.

This is Jake's second time receiving the award after being Sportsperson of the Month in November 2019.
Jake is local mixed martial arts fighter who continues to tick off a list of achievements.
The year 9 Kempsey Adventist School student's fight occurred on March 20 with the victory coming via submission.
BEAST championship were the fight promoters and feed into the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts.
Jake trains at Rogue MMA in Port Macquarie.
Along with his commitments to MMA, Jake is currently enrolled in an online Sports Coaches Course organised by KAS as part of their passion projects program.
He is close to finishing the course with a desire to make himself and younger athletes better.
To nominate a local athlete for the next Macleay Sportsperson of the Month, provide detailed information on the individual's achievement and email it to lachlan.harper@macleayargus.com.au.
The Macleay Argus will determine the monthly and yearly winner of the award.
A sportsperson of the month will be decided upon in April 2021 with an additional voucher of $100 for the restaurant awarded to the winner.
