After the heavy rain during the past week the No Carts Sign was put up at the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday for the staging of the 2021 Qualifying round of the Volkswagen Scramble.

With no carts available there was still a very good field of 16 teams of 4 for the event.
Also on the day the club held an individual stableford event for those players not in the scramble and with a field of 41 players in this event the scores were still very good.
A big thank you to all the players on the day for coming out and playing despite the wet conditions.
Taking out the Volkswagen Scramble for 2021 and moving on to the next round which will be held at the Coffs Harbour club on Monday April 19th is the team made of Micheal Clayworth, Nigel Sweetnan, Josh Bailey & Alan Cockburn after they recorded a net score of 56.75.
All four players were visitors from down south and they truly enjoyed the day.
With a score of 57.25 the runner up group was made of Sam Johnson, Dylan Rumble, Chris Trotter & Ethan Hendricks.
In the 3rd place on the day was the team of Matt Morris, Noel Chilly, Nathan Smith & John Wright with a net score of 57.5 on a countback.
A big thank you goes to Brad at the club for his lead up work for the event after it was postponed early in the year due to the wet conditions and to everyone for the assistance on the course over the last week.
In the individual event the winner of the top grade on Saturday was Rick Nicholson with a score of 36 points on a countback from Todd Watts who got the runner up prize.
Samuel Johnson with a score of 39 points was the 'B' grade winner and with 34 points Dianne O'Leary was the runner up.
Josh Swan who has recently taken up the game was the winner in the 'C' grade with a very good score of 43 points, and with a score of 42 points Jake Megaloconomos was the runner up to Swan.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 33 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event and the winners of the prizes in the Scramble can also pick up your prizes from the pro shop at the club anytime.
Coming up Saturday at the club the members and visitors will hit off in the 2021 Coastline Credit Union 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event and all intending players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and for more information about the upcoming events at the club please give the club a call now.
Last Sunday at the club the 2021 MNC pennants started and the Div 2 team was at home and up against the Coffs Harbour no2 side.
The side lead by captain Brad Dyet came away with a draw having won 2 matches and lost 2 and had a draw in the other game ( 21/5- 21/5) .
Their next game is this Sunday April 18 when they travel to Sawtell for their match at 8.30am.
The side is Brad Dyet "c", Matt Lewis, Ross Leopold, Chris Kerr & Graeme Croad.
Unfortunately for the Open div team their first round match at Grafton was postponed until later in the year.
However, they will be in action this Sunday at home against the Urunga Open side with a 10am start time.
The team will be Wayne Simmons, Malcolm Blanch, Scott Williams, Ethan Dowling & Brett Hutley.
If any players are unavailable please let Brad know at the club ASAP so a replacement can be found for your spot.
