The Duke of Edinburgh died on Friday, April 9 (Australian time) at Windsor Castle, aged 99.
He was buried on Saturday, April 17.
In March 1973, he became the first member of the Royal Family to visit the Manning-Great Lakes region.
He stepped off a plane at Taree Airport to a large crowd before a trip down the Pacific Highway to inspect a proposed mining site north of Hawks Nest.
Prince Philip would return to Australia later in the year.
He accompanied Queen Elizabeth II to open the Sydney Opera House on October 20.
