Self-drive Christmas Lights tour: Christmas Lights map for Port Macquarie-Hastings
Until December 12: Operation Art 2020 - 10am-2pm at The Glasshouse, Port Macquarie. Operation Art is an annual exhibition celebrating its 26th Anniversary this year. These 50 artworks created by students across New South Wales will tour the state before finding their home at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, where they will help make sick kids feel better through the power of art.
All December/January: The Hastings Summer Waves markets run every Wednesday until the end of January from 5pm to 9pm, weather permitting, at Town Beach featuring handmade creations and food stalls and vans. Musical acts will provide the entertainment.
December 2-5: Beauty and the Beast at The Basement at Port Panthers. Based on the smash hit 1991 Disney movie and dating back to a late 18th-century classic French fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. hen her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle, Belle's attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by the Beast, a grisly and fearsome monster, who was long ago trapped in his gruesome form by an enchantress. December 4: Alliance Francais will be holding its Christmas Celebration at Little Fish Café in Port Macquarie at 6pm.
December 4: Kempsey Riverside Market and Twilight Christmas Festival from 3pm with art show, car display, entertainment, live music, food and drink with fireworks to end the evening
December 4: CWA Christmas market at Port Macquarie CWA Hall on Town Green (next to Chop n Chill) 9am-2pm. Free entry.
December 4: Comboyne Botanical Art & Couture. A demonstration of art and couture will highlight the skills of making large frame botanical displays. Other beautiful works of botanical couture will be on display within the Hall. There will also be a fashion parade with models wearing examples of botanical couture. This event will be hosted by the well known George Hoad from Garden Clubs Australia. It will be a night of fun, food, wine, and bubbles so come along and support the Comboyne art community. December 4: NSW local government elections.
December 4-5: Comboyne Campdraft, at the Comboyne Showground from 7am on Saturday, December 4 and 7am on Sunday, December 5.
December 5: Camden Haven SES open day. There will be a free sausage sizzle and cold drink as well as giveaways for the kids. The open day runs from 10am-3pm at the SES unit unit which is located at 21 Norman Street, Laurieton.
December 8: Bonny Hills CWA Christmas Stall at Bonny Hills Community Hall, 10am-2pm
December 9-31: Kempsey Rotary Club is holding its annual Book Sale. Thousands of second-hand books will be sold on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm from December 9-31. The book sale will be held in the shop next to NRMA in Smith Street, Kempsey. Volunteers to help with the sale are welcome.
December 10-12: Wildside Adventure Race Port Macquarie Edition - The Wildside Adventure Race will have everything - challenging trek legs, demanding mountain biking and scenic paddle legs. The course is rich in history. You and your team will get a real adventure experience while you get to know the Camden Haven region of Port Macquarie. www.wildsideadventurerace.com.au
December 10: Australia's most successful Tenor, internationally acclaimed sensation Mark Vincent will be presenting his popular new concert "The Impossible Dream" at the Glasshouse, Port Macquarie.
December 11: Low N Slow at Hastings IGA, Sovereign Hills, Port Macquarie. Tastings and book signings with Adam Roberts 10am-12 noon. Some great in-store all-day specials in the delicatessen, produce, grocery and meat departments.
December 12: Christmas with the Choristers 2pm at St Agnes Church, Port Macquarie. Tickets from the Glasshouse Box Office and at the door. $20 or $10 for those under 18. QR check in and proof of vaccination is required.
December 12: Christmas Under The Stars at Westport Park Port Macquarie from 6pm. Santa, carols, entertainment and special guest Gina Jefferys. Tickets $5 from Westport Club.
December 12: The Nambucca Valley Arts Council (NVAC) are known for their exhibitions at the Stringer Gallery Art Gallery, but this December, they are presenting something a little different, a concert promised to be like no other. Titled Joy to the World, the performance will see multi-genre, multi-instrumentalist and teller of silly jokes Heather Rose do what she does best on Sunday, December 12 at the Senior Citizens' Hall in Nambucca Heads. The Joy to the World concert will run from 2 to 4pm, doors open at 1:30pm. Tickets are $20 and are available at Hello World Nambucca Heads, online at Eventbrite or at the door.
December 12: Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club is celebrating 100 years and wants to mark the milestone with a community celebration. If you are interested in celebrating the rich history of the club, the event is being held on Sunday, December 12, 10am until 6pm at the Crescent Head Surf Club.
December 12: Philomusica returns to Kendall. The performance at Kendall School of Arts Hall at 2pm is introduced in a philosophical pre-concert talk on music and Identity commencing at 1pm by Goetz Richter. Attendance at the pre-concert talk is free with admission to the concert. All proceeds from the event benefit the Kendall National Violin Competition. December 17: The Rock Show Oz Edition at the Glasshouse Port Macquarie. Featuring Steve Mulry from the Ted Mulry Gang, along with band members from Jon English's last rock show, Trilogy of Rock, Cameron says The Rock Show Oz Edition celebrates "an outstanding repertoire of classic Aussie Rock from the '60s, '70s, and '80s." Steve, the brother of Ted Mulry from hit 70's band the Ted Mulry Gang, who now fronts the reformed original band in his brother's place, says he was humbled when asked if he'd help carry on the show in Jon's memory. December 19: Mid-North Coast musicians, Phil Jamieson and Blake O'Connor are coming together this holiday season for a little bit of country and a little bit of rock n roll to raise funds for headspace Port Macquarie.
