Local and visiting performers will get the chance to showcase their creative talents and take centre stage at the 2021 Kempsey Eisteddfod next month.
The event was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 and organisers said they are excited to provide an opportunity for young people to showcase their creative talents once again.
"This year we hope to see more local schools entering groups or individual students," Kempsey Eisteddfod Society publicity officer Angela Meyers said.
"It's a wonderful opportunity for students to gain confidence upon the stage and improve their speech, vocal, instrumental, drama or dance skills."
For decades the Kempsey Eisteddfod has provided a chance for local youth to further their experience on the stage, as well attracting performers from outside of the Macleay Valley.
"Kempsey Eisteddfod Society is run by volunteers and supported by local business sponsorships as well as the community members that donate their time to enable the eisteddfod to continue and allow us to provide this platform for performers," Angela said.
The Kempsey Eisteddfod will get underway next month, the dates are as follows:
- Vocal & Instrumental - June 20 to June 22
- Speech & Drama - June 23 to June 25
- Dance - June 26 to July 4
Entries close on May 16, with late entries accepted until Friday, May 21. Enter now via www.stardom.com.au.
"The committee would love to see you there assisting or audience member," Angela said.
"We look forward to seeing all of the talented performers back on the stage in June and our community there supporting them on their journey."
